| The Tennessee Valley FairSeptember 18, 2010
It is a perfectly beautiful late summer Saturday evening, the Fair is in town, and Con Hunley will be ON-STAGE LIVE!Con loves performing at the Fair... ...it's a great place for folks to enjoy a family night out!
There is something for everyone at the Fair! |
| Con's nephew, singer/songwriter Stephen Hunley opened the show. And he did a terrific job, performing a couple of his original songs!
Con-fans have embraced this gifted young artist from the start. Stephen has a new CD in the works, and you can find out more about him at www.stephenhunley.com. Be sure to check it out! |
| Chuck Jacobs from WTNQ Radio, 104.9 in LaFollette was happy to introduce Con to the crowd! Chuck proudly plays a lot of Con Hunley music - old and new - and tells everyone that Con is one of his all-time faves!
The two first met 4 years ago when Chuck interviewed Con live on the air for the first time. Con says it was like sitting down with an old friend, and he makes it a point to visit with Chuck at WTNQ whenever he can! |
| And here's the star of the show....a little "Weekend Friend" gets things started. |
| Con and the gang are ready for a night of great music under the stars.... |
| Kenny and Ruthie love performing for their hometown crowd! It's great to perform live, but they also sing background vocals on Con's CD's. There is nothing like that smooth family harmony!
Con has been working on a new project, and this time around Con also used his own band on the recordings. Every one of Con's band members are super-talented studio musicians, and Con was thrilled that it finally worked out to have them all in the studio with him. |
| The whole band is fired up and ready.... ...Okay, Knoxville... we're gonna ROCK! |
| And the crowd is ready! There are a lot of hometown folks here, but there were a lot of fans who came from
Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and on and on...we even had one sweet lady who drove all the way from Toronto, Canada! How great is that?! |
| And of course there were a lot of friends in the crowd. Con took a moment to recognize his good friend
and newly elected Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett and his wife, Allison. |
| And another good friend, Tennessee Representative Congressman Jimmy Duncan.
Con was even able to talk Duncan into singing a duet with him....And Congressman Duncan was a great sport! They sang "You Are My Sunshine" with the crowd singing along and cheering them on! After they finished, Duncan told Con he had practiced up just in case Con pulled a stunt like this...the only thing was he practiced "Silver Wings"!
He told the crowd, "I may not sing very well, but I sing enthusiastically"! The crowd loved it! |
| Con put on a great show, and even sang some of the new songs that he recorded this year! After the show, Con greeted folks and thanked them for coming, and the fans loved having the opportunity to say "Hi"!
Con stayed for more than an hour chatting with fans, even as the fireworks lit up the sky, bringing an end to a wonderful evening at the Fair! Thanks to everyone who came out!! Remember, Con and IMMI Records are hoping to have a new CD out in the fall...so check the website often for all the latest news and product availability! |
